A Party....the RocknRoll Bride way!
Last Thursday was a date not to be missed as Jo and I were both lucky enough to get our hands on 2 tickets to the latest Rock n Roll Bride party! The Twittersphere was a buzz of excitement during the days before the event, and we were both looking forward to attending the party of the year 🙂
To put things in context, a year ago I didn’t have a website, had no idea who Kat Williams was and had never met any of the other people who attended the party. A year on, things couldn’t be more different. I’ve got to know so many wonderfully talented, inspiring and friendly people and I’m very grateful that everyone has allowed Jo and I to become part of the amazing photography community we have here in the UK. I wonder where I’ll be in a years time?
Anyway, back to the party, which was located at The Graphic Bar in central London. Kat had put a lot of effort into organising the little extras that turn a good party into a great party! There were yummy cupcakes, pick n mix sweeties and some funky pink paint tin cocktails on offer. We were also told to bring along a prop for the “photobooth” section of the bar. Jo and I had fun trying to decide on what to bring, and eventually Jo came up with the great idea of giving out envelopes to everyone that contained not just my business card but also some instructions on “The art of making love” which were all contained inside a “Love Bowl”. It was all very tongue in cheek (so to speak!) and everyone was very intrigued as to what we were carrying around with us which was a great icebreaker when meeting new people. They even got some hot lip sweeties as a reward for taking an envelope!
In between all the chatting, cup cake eating and cocktail drinking I managed to snap a few shots of the party. The perils of shooting at f/1.2 are visible in a few of the shots (some people in the group shots became oof) and I kind of wish I had brought my flash, but I hope these give you a flavour of what went on during the evening. It was great to catch up with the people I already knew and also to meet and chat with those I didn’t. So a big hello to everyone I met on the night and huge thanks again to Kat for inviting us and for putting on such a great party; you keep on knocking them out of the park!
