I just wanted to share with you my last wedding of the season I shot a few months ago in Shropshire, namely that of Lesley and James. I was fortunate to be introduced to Lesley and James via my sister who happened to mention that I’m a wedding photographer and I was very pleased when I received an e-mail from Lesley asking if I would photograph her wedding day.

Lesley & James were married in St George’s Church in Pontesbury (just outside Shrewsbury) and held their reception at James’ parents house a few minutes down the road. The grounds looked wonderful in the late summer sun and the very impressive starlit marquee looked amazing for the Scottish Ceilidh dancing in the evening. Yet again I’m very grateful to my fiancée Jo for her help as a second shooter. You were invaluable.

Finally many thanks to Lesley & James for being such a lovely couple and allowing Jo and myself to share in your celebrations. It was a fantastic wedding with which to finish my season!

Here are a selection of my favourites from the day:

       The carriage awaits!

Meanwhile at the church, the guests were arriving

Some of the quests were more reluctant than others to shake the groom’s hand!

       Nearly there!

Half way through the speeches all the lights went out! Some quick thinking by the best man meant that by phone light proceedings could continue…

It was only a brief interlude, and things were soon back to normal.

The beer carried on flowing well into the night!

Fantastic work. I really love the image of the bride and groom in the back of the car, really captured the emotion of the day. Steve & Sandra.

Really lovely work Mark. You’re not scared to get down on the ground to get the shot are you?
