Last week Jo and I went along to the launch party for The London Wedding Club. This was the first networking event for the group which was set up by the lovely Laura Babb and Sophie Biebuyck as a place for London based wedding suppliers to swap info and generally help each other out. It was held at Keston Lodge, a funky cocktail bar in Islington. The male contingent were a little outnumbered (I think I counted 3 guys compared with over 30 ladies) but I got to meet some lovely new people who aren’t necessarily photographers, which was quite refreshing. Having a list of contacts from the wedding industry might well come in handy as my own wedding preparations are gathering pace! I asked Laura if I could to take my camera along and be the ‘official photographer’ for the evening. Apologies to those I didn’t get round to talking to; it was quite tricky trying to chat as well as take photos for the event!

A lot of effort went into the goody bags that everyone picked up at the end of the evening and the London themed tags were a nice touch.
Thanks to Kate Ruth Romey for the lovely name badges, and to Bon Bon Balloons for providing decor. Also thanks to Terri Capon (Belle of the Ball Hair), Sophie Griffiths (Violet and Green Photography), Ciara Mullan (Wed in London) and Samantha O’Brien (A Little London Wedding) for their gift bag contributions.

We both had a fun evening an I’m definitely looking forward to future events that are in the works. There is even a brand new website which will keep everyone up to date with what we have been getting up to. So if anyone is based in London and is a wedding supplier, come along and join the group or visit the site. The more the merrier!
