What a difference a year makes! It’s a bit of cliché I know, but it is definitely an apt phrase to describe two thousand and eleven.

I have been fortunate to have been given the opportunity to photograph some fantastic weddings and have met so many great people long the way! It wasn’t all work though and I got to meet and mingle with some very talented industry people at a few parties as well. I am grateful that everyone has allowed Jo and I to become a small part of the amazing photography community we have here in the UK.

This has been a busy year for me and I also wanted to take the opportunity to thank my fiancée Jo for her support throughout the year and for her great photography skills second shooting at several weddings this year. On top of photography, next year will be extra busy as we will be planning our own wedding! I think it will be a refreshing change to be in front of the lens rather than behind it!

Lastly thanks to all the couples who have asked us to photograph your wedding day during 2011. I hope the photos we captured will allow you to relive your special day for many years to come!

      Here are a few highlights:

      ShootSwaps!

It was really great to meet some fellow photographers throughout the year at various ‘shoot swaps’. These gave me the chance to meet a lot of very talented folk, pick their brains on various aspects of photography and also practice some posing techniques! Thanks to Juliet Mckee and Will Ablett for organising the ones I went to this year.

       Jasmine Star Workshop

In July I was lucky enough to get a place on a workshop with the famous Jasmine Star. It was a really great day and one that I will remember for a long time! The day was packed full of in depth business advice as well as lots of cool photography and posing tips. We even had a recently wedded couple to act as our models. Thanks again to Jasmine and JD for their time and energy and to Kat Williams for getting them over here!

       Parties!

Throughout the year I got the chance to mingle over a few cocktails with lots of industry folk. It was a great way to meet new people and I have now forged some great new friendships for which I’m very grateful. Here’s to more parties in 2012!
